Podcast 101 - The lowdown on podcasting

Now it's a lot easier to listen than it is to send your own audio programs into cyberspace. But stay tuned -- this party's just getting started.

What is Podcasting?

Podcasting is a way to receive audio files over the Internet. Many content providers, including Migalhas, offer podcast feeds at no cost. These feeds deliver audio broadcasts to your computer. You can listen to these files on your computer or load them on your MP3 player and take them with you.

Get started

All you need to get started is a podcatcher (podcasting software). Once you download and install the software, subscribe to one of Migalhas' podcast feeds by copying and pasting the url in the subscribe roll-over to the appropriate section of your podcatcher. The podcatcher will automatically check for updates and download the files to your computer so you can load them on your MP3 player.
