Lily Allen accepts damages over magazine claims

Singer Lily Allen has accepted damages at London's High Court over claims she made offensive remarks about the Beckhams and Ashley and Cheryl Cole.

The claims were made in a French-language football magazine called So Foot in May 2009.

Her solicitor, Mark Thomson, told Mr Justice Eady the publishers now accept Ms Allen had not made the comments.

The singer previously accepted £10,000 damages from The Sun, after it reprinted the allegations.

So Foot has also agreed to pay damages and Mr Thompson said Allen's "reputation has been vindicated".

In September last year Allen denied ever making the comments and sued The Sun newspaper for defamation and false attribution of authorship.

The paper issued an apology in a later edition.
