Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage arrested, then bailed out by Dog the Bounty Hunter
Who had an eventful weekend? Nicolas Cage certainly did.
While on location in New Orleans, where the actor is currently filming the thriller "Medallion," Cage, 47, was arrested and charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace.
As People reported, Cage and his wife, Alice Kim, allegedly got into an argument Saturday morning over whether they were standing in front of the property they were renting. Kim insisted they were, Cage disagreed, and he attempted to drag her to the right place. Afterward, the "National Treasure" star allegedly began hitting other vehicles and tried to hail a cab when a police officer stepped in to make the arrest because Cage appeared to be intoxicated.
A few hours later, Cage was release from custody after his $11,000 bond was posted ... by reality show star Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman.
"I am a truly dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting any interviews about my client as I wish to respect his privacy," Chapman said in a statement to E! News. "I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection with our show. This is what I do for a living. There are two sides of my job: I release my clients after they have been arrested; and pick them up if they don't show up in court. I do not believe the latter will be the case for Mr. Cage."
Cage is reportedly due in court on May 31.
Let's hope this is an isolated incident. We all loved Cage in "Leaving Las Vegas," but no one wants to see him turn into that character in real life.
