Lindsay Lohan gets 120-day jail sentence for violating probation

Although Lindsay Lohan hasn't yet been criminally convicted of a misdemeanor theft charge concerning a California jeweler's $2,500 necklace, a state court judge determined Friday that the conduct violated the actress' probation in an earlier driving-under-the-influence case.

Rejecting a defense argument that Lohan didn't intend to take the necklace, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner sentenced her to 120 days for the probation violation, reports the L.A. Now blog of the Los Angeles Times.

Her sentence also includes 480 hours of community service--120 hours of which Lohan is to spend doing janitorial work at the county coroner's office, reports another L.A. Now post.

Prosecutors are considering an appeal of another ruling by the judge on Friday, reducing the charge against Lohan from a felony to a misdemeanor.

Lohan spent about four hours Friday at the Los Angeles County jail before posting $75,000 bond, the Hollywood Reporter says. She will remain free on bond until her criminal trial is held.
