Forbes Global 2000

The World's Biggest Companies

Forbes released this year's Global 2000, the magazine's annual guide to the biggest companies with the top composite scores based on their rankings for sales, profits, assets and market value.

In the ninth annual ranking, Exxon Mobil is in the top spot for the first time and Brazilian oil industry Petrobras takes the number 10 on the list.

Forbes included 4 countries on its list this year and announced that U.S. (524 members) and Japan (258 members) still dominate the list, but with a combined 14 fewer entries.

The oil and gas industry, with 131 companies, scores high in sales and profits, yet these sectors were not the leaders in growth over the past year.

Not only Brazilian's oil and gas industry and banks and financials dominate the list, including

Itau, Bradesco e Banco do Brasil. There are a total of 33 brazilian companies in this year's ranking.
