Lula Proposal at Election Campaigns
The proposal of national understanding made yesterday by Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva will be addressed Friday by electoral candidates in ceremonies in the country's several states.
Lula defended national understanding to ensure sustainable development and stated that to achieve it, is necessary to reduce political tension.
In a meeting of the Economic and Social Council, the Brazilian statesman said that his aim is that Brazil finds a way for sustainable development and becomes a rich and fair nation.
The first reaction to his proposal came from aspirant to the presidency by Brazilian Social Democrat Party and Liberal Front Party Gerardo Alckmin, who discarded any understanding with the Labor Party.
The position of Alckmin, who at the same time proposed a pact to moralize the policy, was decided in Minas Gerais, from where he travels to the Amazon to carry out today a walk through Manaus after visiting a Honda factory.
The other contenders must speak today, while Lula is expected to talk again on this issue during polls at the end of the afternoon, and in Rio de Janeiro and Nova Iguazu tonight.
