Hope For Balanced Trade Between Angola And Brazil
Brazilian ambassador to Angola, Marcelo Vasconcelos, expressed hopes that trade between the two countries will record an equilibrium in a near future, in view of the country`s exports to the south American market, especially oil and mining derivatives.
Speaking to journalists Thursday in Luanda while presenting the programme on III Week of Brazil in Angola, as part of t he celebrations of that southern American country`s 184 anniversary, the diplomat said he hopes the African country would soon add other goods to its oil exports to his country.
"Currently, the balance is more positive for Brazil, but by the moment the sale of other products records an increment (.), things might change. We are here talking of mining products too," he said.
Marcelo Vasconcelos considered as very important that Brazilian firms participate in Angola`s reconstruction process that, he hopes, will record improvements in coming months.
According to him, Brazil obtained in 2005 a profit of Usd 520 million, as a result of trade with Angola, and expressed the hope for a rise this year.
He also considered as positive the participation of Brazilian firms in the Angolan market and mentioned the fact that his country attended the latest edition of the Luanda International Trade Fair (FILDA2006) with 80 companies in the various fields of activity.
The two countries enjoy diplomatic relations since 1975, when Angola became independent, with Brazil being the first nation to recognise the African nation as an independent state.
