India-Brazil-SA meet on tax agenda
The first India-Brazil-South Africa (Ibsa) Heads of Revenue Administrations is due to take place in Pretoria this week, the SA Revenue Service (Sars) said on Friday.
Sars commissioner Pravin Gordhan would meet Jorge Rachid and KM Chandrasekhar, his counterparts from Brazil and India respectively.
The meeting will focus on co-operation in the areas of tax and customs administration.
It would also consider the effects that globalisation and the rapid expansion of trade have on tax and customs administration. Means to combat smuggling, fraud, tax avoidance and other criminal behaviour will also be discussed.
