Brazil Bovespa index falls 3 pct on futures expiry

Brazil's Bovespa stock index fell sharply on Wednesday afternoon, pressured by expiring futures options on the index and falling equities markets in the United States and Europe.

The Bovespa fell 3.15 percent to 23.182 points in afternoon trading. Among the biggest losers were steel stocks. They fell after J.P. Morgan cut its outlook for European miners, a move that shook the sector in Brazil.
