Ford to invest euro200 million in German plant
Ford Motor Co. will invest euro200 million ($260 million) in its plant in the German city of Cologne, an official said Monday.
The investments would help secure jobs and get the company through the current economic crisis, North-Rhine Westfalia Minister President Juergen Ruettgers said.
"In the future, even more environmentally-friendly motors will be produced in Cologne," Ruettgers said in a statement. "That's a good signal for North-Rhine Westfalia."
Dearborn, Michigan-based Ford planned a news conference Monday where it would discuss "broad decisions" for its German plants in Cologne and Saarlouis.
